2014 Speakers and Bands
MKR (My King's Ransom) Long time guitarist Darryl Maihori, his son, Clancy Maihori on piano / saxophone / violin, with lead vocalist / songwriter / acoustic guitarist Jason Robeck, drummer Mike Butler and newest member bass player Kyle Armitage have a connection most artists long for. That connection can be heard and felt throughout the array of musical styles in this album. From folk rock, Alternative to hip hop, My King's Ransom commands attention. While playing together in the studio brings delight to listeners and this group of musicians, playing live is where they're able to create an experience that goes deeper than the music.
Rick is an authentic Country singer, from Ogema Mn. He is well known for his covering of Johnny Cash and some Elvis tunes. Years ago he performed with the band Home Brew. Rick on guitar and vocals, will be backed by his daughter on drums and his son-in-law on bass. We will have to wait and see who else shows up to play with them. A definite can’t miss for county music lovers.
We are so privileged to have one of the top Classic rock bands of the area coming to the rally. Led by front man Doug Newman the band has a driving sound that is sure to please rock lovers. Other members include guitarist Kerry Boyd, bassist Wes Horn, drummer Steve Ingberg, rhythm guitarist Dave Jopp, and pianist Mark Lane.
Rod Volker & Reign Dancers
Rod is a Vietnam vet, from Audubon, MN that understands the price of our freedom in America. His sharing on Saturday morning will be moving and relevant as we honor those who have served us. His rock based music Saturday evening is somewhat hard to describe. There are elements of light jazz, solid well written lyrics, and well just a unique sound he calls progressive rock.
The Skyblues band is made up for the most part by the Walther family of the Detroit Lakes area. Vocals are led by Christin Mohr and her father Michael Walther. BenWalther and his wife, Nicole play drums and guitar respectively. Michael Wife, Susan plays Keys. On lead guitar is Steve Johnson of Detroit lakes. His playing has demandes notice due to his unique playing style. The band has performed in the biker community for 10 plus years. They have done sereral tours in Europe. Mark Johnson - Forerunner Band
Mark is an itinerate minister, from Minneapolis MN, that has played and spoken all over the united states and several foreign countries. He will be sharing music and speaking at the Sunday Morning service. Mark is…well a lot of fun. Mark and his sons play a wide variety of classic rock tunes from Steve Miller to the Who. Mark is also known as a gifted worship leader. Be prepared to just have a good time…fun band.
